Research

As a researcher, I specialize in proposal development and qualitative research.

Proposal Development:  I can assist your organization in defining the research problem, scope of the research, development of methodology, risk management, evaluation strategies, development of project budget, and dissemination strategies.  I have over 10 years experience in writing grant proposals, and I will work with your organization to craft a document that reflects your philosophy while incorporating sound research strategies.

Qualitative Research:  Key research skills include literature reviews, meta-analysis, participatory action research, focus group and key informant interviews, Delphi surveys, and questionnaires.

Article from The Ghanaian News (June 2010) on our research and development work in Ghana:

Text reads:  "Members of the Canadian Team engaged in work on persons with disability in Ghana held series of discussion in May with government departments and officials whose work impact on persons with disabilities in Ghana.  They met with Mr. Robert Joseph Mettle-Nunoo, Deputy Minister of Health, Hon. Juliana Azumah-Mensah, Minister for Women and Children Affairs, Hon. Tetteh-Enyo, Minister of Education, Hon. Dr. Joseph Annan, Deputy Minister of Education, Jon. Enoch Teye Mensah, Minister for Employment and Manpower, and his Deputy Minister Hon. Antwi-Boaskiako Sekyere.  The meetings and discussions with government officials focused on ways and processes on implementing the provisions of the Disability Legislation (Act 715) passed by Ghana's Parliament in 2006.  The meeting with the Ministry of Education which included officials from the Special Education Division focused on exploring ways of de-segregating special schools run for children with disability in Ghana.  The Canadian team stressed the need to embark on current trends on inclusive education which seek to provide the necessary support and resources for children with disability to function in regular educational institutions.  The Canadian team offered their support to the efforts by government in the critical sector of education for the youth.  The Special Education Division of the Ministry of Education has set up some pilot schools on inclusive education in three Regions in Ghana:  Greater Accra, Eastern and Western Regions.  The Canadian team offered to assist the Division in conducting an evaluative research on these pilot educational projects."
